I have thoroughly enjoyed being involved in hosting the ‘Marathon Project’. With my interest in art, as a painter, and Andrew’s conservation work and his interest in art and ideas, an artist camp on our property has been an easy fit.
We wanted to start a conversation with artists about landscape, farming and conservation. The Marathon Project has taken on a life of its own and we have thoroughly enjoyed our conversations and interaction with the artists. I feel that I have gained more insight into this place. I have been uplifted by the artists keen interest and enthusiasm for being on the farm. They have been exploring and enquiring about many aspects of the farm including its history.
Marathon Project has motivated me to clear and excavate the foundations of the original dwelling under the Elm trees, which has been a lot of fun and very rewarding. My interaction with everyone has been very stimulating and it is great to be able to see this place through other people’s eyes.
